Survivor is over! What have we learned? See the title! and if you have the idol, use it!!!!! Love how the final 3 were blindsided by only a final 2(like in more endings of Survivor than not). And Ozzy..mad, and Eric, angry...well you have no leg to stand on...again..see above!
American Galdiators begins anew tonight...I will not be watching! Hulk Hogan scares me.
More gardening this weekend, trimmed a bush..think it looks worse..but not as bushy! Way to many rocks in my yard. I should live in Arizona where they are used as lawn..i wonder if they yell if there's dirt in the yard.

Three Chilly Saints (May 11–13)
These three days, named for three early Christian martyrs, are traditionally the last cold spell before planting season begins.
In the middle of May comes the tail of winter.

While the Mother’s Day we celebrate is a fairly recent development, in 16th-century England a celebration called “Mothering Sunday” was inaugurated — a Sunday set aside for visiting your mother. The eldest son or daughter would bring a “mothering cake,” which would be shared by the entire family. Family reunions were the order of the day, with sons and daughters assuming all household duties and preparing a special dinner in honor of their mother.

The United States celebrates Mother's Day on the second Sunday in May. In the United States, Mother's Day was loosely inspired by the British day and was imported by social activist Julia Ward Howe after the American Civil War. However, it was intended as a call to unite women against war. In 1870, she wrote the Mother's Day Proclamation as a call for peace and disarmament. Howe failed in her attempt to get formal recognition of a Mother's Day for Peace. Her idea was influenced by Ann Jarvis, a young Appalachian homemaker who, starting in 1858, had attempted to improve sanitation through what she called Mothers' Work Days. She organized women throughout the Civil War to work for better sanitary conditions for both sides, and in 1868 she began work to reconcile Union and Confederate neighbors.
When Jarvis died in 1907, her daughter, named Anna Jarvis, started the crusade to found a memorial day for women. The first such Mother's Day was celebrated in Grafton, West Virginia, on 10 May 1908, in the church where the elder Ann Jarvis had taught Sunday School.
The holiday was declared officially by some states beginning in 1912. In 1914 President Woodrow Wilson declared the first national Mother's Day, as a day for American citizens to show the flag in honor of those mothers whose sons had died in war.

You've got roughly four years to get your affairs in order. According to LiveScience.com, Earth's time will be up in the year 2012. A variety of crazy cults around the globe, most of which have nothing in common, all believe that the world will end early in the next decade. 2012 is the most popular year for predicting our demise. The only thing that separates one group of nuts from another is that some of the 2012 advocates claim everything will go dark that year, while others believe we'll experience "a new age of global spiritual awakening."

You know you’re supposed to drink plenty of water every day to stay healthy. But do you?
Nutrition experts say most people do not drink enough water. Your body is about 65-percent water, so it’s important to replenish the supply. An article in the Times of India explains that you lose two to four cups of just breathing. If you’ve got sweaty feet, you lose another cup. And then there’s all that water we get rid of by using the bathroom.
Most people don’t get a glass of water until they’re thirsty. But by then you’re already dehydrated. To stay hydrated, men should drink at least three liters of water a day. Women need a little more.

Don't monkey around when you have heartburn eating a few bites of a banana will peel the pain away, usually within 30 minutes. According to the web site The People's Pharmacy, doctors in India have prescribed bananas or banana powder to treat stomach upset from aspirin or indigestion for years. And a study published in the medical journal Lancet found that banana powder soothed indigestion in 75% of patients.
